Zachary Staggs Obituary, Death – This morning, a Fire Lieutenant for the Royalton Fire Department was off-duty when he was involved in an accident that ultimately claimed his life. To the Royalton Fire Department, Lieutenant Zachary Staggs, 22, who had been injured in an accident while he was off duty, passed away early this morning as a result of the injuries he had incurred in that accident. There was an instant lack of any further information regarding the accident being provided. Funeral arrangements for Staggs are forthcoming.
At the age of 22, Zachary Drew Staggs of Orleans lost tragically on Monday evening, January 11th, as the result of an accident involving a motor vehicle. He was employed at Big Splash Adventure in French Lick and attended Church on the Hill while he was a child. His parents, Denise Staggs Coulter and Rick Terrell, gave birth to him in Bedford in 1987. He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Brandon Taylor, Stevie, Derrick, and Ricky Terrell; one sister, MacKenzie Taylor; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Donna Staggs; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His parents, Brandon Taylor, Stevie, Derrick, and Ricky Terrell, as well as one sister, MacKenzie Taylor, survive him as well.
His maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Peggy Terrel, as well as several aunts and uncles, passed away before he was born. He was named after his paternal grandfather. Funeral services will be held on the Saturday, January 16th at 1:00 PM at the Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home, and burial will take place immediately after at the Mundell Christian Church Cemetery. On Friday, January 15, visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, January 16, visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the hour of the service. Both events will take place at the Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home. Also, donations can be made to the Maddie Bean Fund at the funeral home where services are being held.
