Sandra Davis Death, Obituary – Sandra Lea Davis, age 78, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. She was christened at the Richland Center Nazarene Church on October 1, the same year that she was born on March 19, 1944.
Her parents, Theron and Veda (Tiser) Burrington, welcomed her into the world in Richland Center, Wisconsin. She wed Gordon Davis on June 27, 1959, and the couple initially made their home in Richland Center before relocating to La Crosse the following year. The couple made the move to Onalaska in 1969 and have remained residents of the area ever since.
Before enrolling at WWTC to pursue her associate’s degree, Sandra spent a significant portion of her career working in the garment industry. After that, she started working for Midwest Security Insurance and stayed there until she retired. Family was the most important thing in Sandra’s life, and she made sure to prioritize it whenever she could, whether it meant attending her grandchildren’s and great-sporting grandchildren’s events or simply spending quality time with them.
She never missed an opportunity to watch her grandson, Jacob, play for the Ferris State Bulldogs hockey team. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Wild, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Green Bay Packers as well. Camping and spending time with her family were two of Sandra’s favorite activities. She was also quite enthusiastic about the winter holidays, and her favorite parts were preparing the house for the season and spending time with her family.
In spite of the fact that her titles included mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be best remembered for the kind demeanor and generous heart she possessed. She was like a mother to each and every one of us.
Sandra’s family includes her husband of 63 years, Gordon; children Todd (Michele) Davis and LeAnn (Jason) Dirks; grandchildren Nathan “Nate” (Amber) Davis, Olivia (Josh) Pellowski, Brody Jenson, and Jacob Dirks; great-grandchildren Talan Van Riper, Harrison Pellowski, Jaxson Davis, Parker Davis, Ivy Pellowski, and Murphy Pellowski; brothers Ron (Joan) Burrington and
Her grandparents, Veda Powell, Karron (John) Cupp, and Donna Ladd, as well as her brother-in-law, Rick Davis, all passed away before Sandra. Sandra’s grandson, Christopher Davis, was also one of the people that came before her in death.
On Monday, December 19, 2022, at eleven in the morning, funeral services will be place at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, which is located at 1215 Redwood St, Onalaska, Wisconsin 54650. The ceremony will be presided over by Pastor David Baumgarn. The church will be open for visitation starting an hour before the start of the service.
