Robert Jenkins Obituary, Death – After a long and difficult struggle with vascular dementia, Robert Glen Jenkins, age 74, a resident of the Valley Point Community, passed away on the morning of March 25, 2023. He was taken to heaven. Because of the finished work of the Lord Jesus and the grace that is adequate from him, he was victorious. May the kindness of God be praised in everything that He does! Robert Eugene Jenkins, whose parents were Harold Eugene Jenkins, Sr. and Betty Livengood Jenkins, was born on July 29, 1948.
He was referred to by a variety of monikers, including Bobby Glen, B.G., Pappy, and Vila. His family owned and operated Jenkins Trucking & Sons, Inc. and East View Farms while he was growing up in Lenox, where he spent his childhood. He devoted his entire life to the responsibility of providing for his family. He enjoyed making fun of the people he cared about and was known to have a wicked sense of humor. When it was required, he exercised discipline that was prompt and fair. Anybody who had the opportunity to collaborate with him had most likely experienced his short temper and intransigence, in addition to his generosity and loving heart.
His adored grandchildren, Colson Robert, Kelsey Morgan, Callen Thomas, and Grace Sophia are among the people he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Kay Sypolt Jenkins, his two sons and their wives, Jason Glenn (Melissa) and Jared (Janna), and their spouses. In addition, his aunts Jeanie Miller, Judy Bolyard (John), Ella Livengood, and Wilda Jenkins, as well as a large number of his nieces, nephews, and cousins, are still living. His brother Harold Eugene Jenkins, Jr., is married to Joan, and his brother Jack Jenkins is married to Vickie. His sister Loraine Sue Gribble is married to Kermit.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Wayne Jenkins, as well as his uncles Donald “Donnie” Miller, Robert Lee Jenkins, Ralph Glen (Wanda) Livengood, and Stanley Livengood. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his grandparents. His family will respect his request, “so no one has to miss work!” and will hold all public services in the evening. On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, his visitation will take place at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home in Morgantown from three in the afternoon until six in the evening, and services will immediately follow. The Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Valley Point will be the location of the private interment service. I would want to express my gratitude to everyone at Sundale Nursing Home and WVU Hospice for providing Bobby Glen and his family with caring and attentive care. Because of the effort you perform each and every day, may the Lord shower his abundant blessings onto you all.
