According to a news release that was obtained on Saturday evening, October 22, Nicole Landsem, who was a resident of Edmore, North Dakota, passed away on Friday at the scene of the incident, which was located about 5 miles south of Nekoma and about 100 miles northwest of Grand Forks. On North Dakota Highway 1, Landsem was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S10 in the direction of the southbound lanes when the vehicle veered off the roadway and into the ditch to the east, according to the state police.
