Macie and her squad had been riding on the float for several years. It appears that a collision with another car was the root cause of the accident. When this event took place, Hill was only eight years old.

A Hummer that was also participating in the Kaysville Parade crashed with the float that Hill and the other members of her Patriot Cheer squad were traveling on when the accident occurred. She was taken to the Layton Parkway Hospital,

but it was too late—she had already gone away before arriving at the institution. Macie Hill, the young girl who has been identified as having been involved in the accident, was reportedly riding on a float with her Patriot Cheer All Stars dance team prior to the incident, as stated by KUTV, which is a station that is affiliated with CBS. It is believed that the accident occurred while the group was participating in a parade. Hill’s relatives informed the publication that the girl had passed away, and the news was published in the magazine.

The request for a statement that was made by PEOPLE was not immediately met with a response from either the office of the Utah medical examiner or the Kansas Police Department.
