James Lightner Obituary, Death – James Richard “Jim” Lightner, Sr., 46, a resident of Sharpsville, died away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, following a restful night of sleep in the comfort of his own home. James Richard “Jim” Lightner, Sr. was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had served in the Vietnam War. James Richard “Jim” Lightner, Sr.

Both of Jim Lightner’s parents had passed away before he was born; his father, Richard Harry Lightner, and his mother, Rebecca Jane (Reeher) Lightner. Jim Lightner was their son. On October 12, 1976, he was born in Grove City, and he attended Shenango High School until he finished his secondary education. His first breath was given to him at Grove City.

He had a number of different jobs at Burger King during his time there in the past. Tinkering and working with electronics in a variety of ways were two of his favorite things to do in his spare time. In addition to being an ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jim enjoyed spending time with his friends and going fishing.

He also had a passion for the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Christine Marie Mikulski, whom he married on October 3, 1998; three daughters, Kayla Lightner of Sharon, Tierra Lightner of Sharpsville, and Danyelle Jones of New Castle; a son, Franky Mikulski of Hermitage; six grandchildren, Michael, Chase, Aiden, and Felix; and three sisters, Melissa Kay Bowser and her husband, Joseph, of Grove City; Michelle Barr and her husband, Reed, of Delaware; and Iver When Jim Lightner passed away, he was preceded in death by his son James Richard Lightner, who followed in the footsteps of both of Jim’s parents when they both went away.
