James Bakker Obituary, Death, James Bakker Has Passed Away

James Bakker Obituary, Death – The firefighters of Engine Company #3 are saddened to share the news that one of our lifelong members, Firefighter James Bakker, has passed away. He was better known to everyone as Jimmy, and over his 52 years of faithful service, he held the ranks of Lieutenant, Master Pump Operator, and Trustee. When it came to whatever that needed to be done in the firehouse or on the fire ground, it was always possible to count on him.

One who was ready to put everything on hold in order to assist not only his fellow firefighters but also the people living in the Borough of Hawthorne. The Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department, Engine Company #3, and the Borough of Hawthorne have all suffered a significant loss as a result of this person’s passing.

Jimmy would be the perfect example of what it means to be a volunteer if you were to check up the definition of the term. During this trying time, we want the Bakker family to know that we are thinking of them and sending our sincere condolences.
