He admired and adored each and every one of them. He was a mason by profession and had spent his whole adult life working in the oil business and construction. He started his career with Modern Masonry, then worked in the North Dakota oil fields for 13 years before returning to his trade with Hanson Masonry.

He formed longtime connections with Pat and Israel Howard, Paul Karlen, and Junior, among many others. Jake took tremendous pleasure in his hard work ethic and accomplished whatever he set out to achieve. He was always willing to work longer hours and go above and beyond to accomplish any job or learn new skills. His hobbies ranged from tattoos to women to sports to cooking to nature, particularly automobiles, travel, fishing, music, and painting. Jacob never turned down a chance to go outdoors. He worked hard, had a good time, and strengthened his love. The ideal hard-soft balance is one that is as gentle as a teddy bear yet as robust as steel. He always made his family proud and had a golden heart. His greatest interest was his family, particularly his son Austyn.
