Florence Gaboury Obituary, Death – Florence “Pat” F. (Laskowski) Gaboury, 93, a resident of Berlin for the past 62 years, passed away at Autumn Care in Raeford, North Carolina, on Monday, January 23, 2023, after a long and happy life there. The year 2019 saw the passing of her spouse of 66 years, Ernest R. Gaboury, Jr. She is survived by her three sons and their wives:

John R. Gaboury and his wife Carole of Worcester, Keith P. Gaboury of Southern Pines, NC, and Kevin P. Gaboury and his wife Gloria of Aberdeen, NC; three grandchildren: Matthew Gaboury, Tricia (Gaboury) Griffis, and Jacquelyn Gaboury; and five great-grandchildren: Gavin, Cameron, Jacob, Evelyn, and Catherine. She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Her sister Dorothy Newell, who passed away in 2003, was the one who died before her. She was the daughter of Benjamin S. and Margaret (Sadowski) Laskowski and was reared in New York, New York, up to the age of thirteen, at which point her family moved to Clinton, the birthplace of her mother. She was born in New York, New York. She moved to Berlin in 1957 with her husband after graduating from Clinton High School and the old Worcester School of Business Science.

Before to that, she lived in Clinton until 1957. She was a graduate of both of those schools. Pat, as she was fondly referred to by her coworkers at the former Colonial Press in Clinton, was working there for a number of years up to the time when the publication shut down. After that, she spent the next 15 years of her career working for State Mutual (Hanover Mutual), where she eventually retired.

She was a superb rug braider, liked reading, baking, and crocheting, and was a member of St. Joseph the Good Provider Church in Berlin. In addition, she was a member of the Extension Club in Berlin. On Thursday, April 13, 2023, her funeral will begin at the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, which is located at 304 Church Street in Clinton. Following the funeral, a Mass will be performed at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Joseph the Good Provider Church, which is located at 52 West Street in Berlin. The subsequent ceremony will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Lancaster. On Thursday morning, April 13, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., there will be a time for visitors to pay their respects at the funeral home.
