Emira Barucija Accident, Death – The driver who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred near a General Electric site in Lynn early on Wednesday is being investigated by the police for possible criminal charges. According to the Lynn Police Department, emergency responders that responded to a complaint of a collision involving a pedestrian in the area of 1100 Western Avenue found a woman in the crosswalk suffering from injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. The collision took place.
The woman, later named as Emira Barucija, 55, from Lynn, was transported to the hospital, where it was reported that she was pronounced dead, according to the police. A significant police presence was seen on video taken at the location, where investigators were gathering evidence. According to the authorities, the driver of the automobile that struck Barucija did not stop to assist her and instead continued driving for a significant distance, all the way to Boston.
The vehicle that was believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run accident was found in a parking garage in the Longwood Medical neighborhood of Boston. The driver never reported the incident, but the driver has been cooperating with investigations, according to the Lynn Police Department.
