Eden Girma Obituary, Death – On Friday, December 24, Eden Girma, a lovely friend, comrade, sister, mother, hero, excellent writer, and traveler, passed away. She was also a fantastic traveler. At her final moments, two of her closest friends were there to hold her hand as she passed away. Currently, she is spending time with her God. Noel, who was given the nickname “My King” as he was growing up, will be the one to carry on Eden’s legacy.
Since the commencement of the collective that is now known as The Bridge Radio, Eden has served as a member of that collective.
She was always watching out for us in the group, cheering us on with her generosity and joy, and bringing her unyielding dedication to the struggle for the rights of migrant workers, women, and children. We have had the good fortune to listen to her rousing speeches, and we have witnessed the tenacious dedication she has shown toward community organizing. We have gone on trips together, made radio together, shouted at protests together, shouted at feasts together, had feasts together, held meetings together, planned events together, laughed and cried together, and everything in between.
Eden, we are very appreciative that you were able to come and spend some time with us. We promise that our love for you will endure forever, that we will never forget you, and that we will always keep you in our hearts. I ask that God grants you the peace that passes all understanding. A memorial service and church ceremony will be held in honor of Eden on the morning of Friday, March 31, at 10 o’clock. This event is going to be held in the Saint Mary and Saint Markus Coptic Orthodox Church, which can be found at Taastrup Hovedgade 162 B, Taastrup, Denmark 2630.
