Donna Maxine Jones, the only child of Lloyd and Erma (Skelton) Jones, was born on February 8, 1929 in Sioux Falls. She was the daughter of the Jones. In 1947, she tied the knot with Donald Viereck. Donna got a divorce after having her fourth kid, and she has devoted her days and nights to providing for her new family. In 1977, Donna was successful in her search for love and wed James Lane. They shared their time between Sioux Falls, Marrs Beach on Lake Madison, and Mesa, Arizona.

She was employed as a waitress in Sioux Falls at Chris’s Country Restaurant, Westward Ho Country Club, and the Elks Club. Bloody Marys made to order by Donna were famous. Sewing and cross-stitching were two hobbies that Donna thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at. She frequently gave her handiwork as gifts for celebratory events or simply to make someone else’s day. She also adored going to the Black Hills to see her numerous pals. Later in life, Donna and Jim made the decision to make Mesa, Arizona their permanent home, where they remained for the next 19 years. They looked forward to their numerous get-togethers with friends, but their favorite was the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

She was a warm-hearted individual who was devoted to her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Allen) Rippentrop of Tea; her son Mark Viereck of Sioux Falls; and her daughter Linda Carmon of Lead; her stepson Mike (Cindy) Lane of Sioux Falls; and her stepdaughter Laurie Rennie of Gladstone, Missouri; as well as eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her parents, her husband James Lane, who passed away in 2015, and her son Grant, who passed away in 1999, all passed away before her.
