Dick Erath Obituary, Iconic Wine Pioneer has passed away unexpectedly at age 87

Dick Erath Obituary, Death – As a result of receiving this information, I get the impression that everything in my life has been flipped upside down. He was a man who was highly clever, brilliant, and kind, and he had such a wonderful life. He passed away not long after having such an incredible life. Recently, he has gone on to a better place. The loss of Dick Erath is a setback not just for the state of Oregon, but for the entire globe as a whole as well. He was a pivotal figure in the progression of wine throughout history.

When I first arrived to Portland over 22 years ago and started working at Genoa restaurant, I had the fortunate opportunity to work my first harvest with Dick Erath, back when he still owned Erath. Dick was a great mentor to me during that time, and I learned a lot from him. At this point in time, Richard Erath was still running Erath by himself as the company’s proprietor. During that time, I had the good fortune to pick his brain, and as a result, I learned a lot of information that was helpful to me. He was the first person who ever taught me anything about winemaking, and his humor, brilliance, and charm will always and forever be permanently embedded in my brain.

He was also the guy who introduced me to winemaking. He was the first person who ever instructed me on anything at all pertaining to the production of wine. I hope that you are finally able to find some peace, old friend. I truly, really, really, profoundly, deeply wish that I could have seen you one more time before we went our separate ways before we parted ways. This rainy day in Oregon is unlike any other rainy day that has come before it or that has occurred anywhere else in the world.

At this present moment, every single citizen in the state is sobbing together with us. I am telling you with a sad heart that we have lost a nice one today. I am sorry for your loss. After bestowing onto the wine business, friends, and family an incredible 87 years of life, Dick Erath has departed this world today. Jesus has provided so many people with the “joie de vivre,” and I pray that each and every one of you will go out and enjoy life!
