She graduated from City High School in 1952 after attending Iowa City Schools. Cathy married Duane Anderson on May 22, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, and the couple had enjoyed 68 years of marriage before Duane’s death in 2021. She offered child care in her house for many years and for many families in the region. “Another Mother to Many Children” Cathy and Duane spent their winters in Las Vegas, where she adored gambling. Cathy was always present for her family, participating in all of her children’s activities as they grew up, and this continued with her grandkids. She was the family’s backbone since nothing was more important to her than her family and the children she cared for!
