Alan Lawrence Obituary, Death – Since Alan Mackender-Lawrence passed away a week ago, the town flag has been flown over the town hall at a height of half-mast in honor of his memory. The flag will remain at this position until the day it is lowered completely. In spite of the fact that I am the one who has to be the one to break this news to you, I would ask that you please understand that everything that was done was done in his honor.

In 2011, Alan won the election for the position of mayor, and he continued to serve in that capacity all the way through 2012. Alan served as mayor of Huntingdon from 2011 until 2012, in addition to his roles on the Huntingdonshire District Council and the Huntingdon Town Council.

Alan was well-known not only in Huntingdon but also in other areas that were further afield as a consequence of the extensive amount of volunteer work that he had done over the years. On behalf of the Huntingdon Town Council, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our condolences and sympathies to Alan’s friends and family. The death of Alan came as a shock the previous week. Alan passed away not too long ago.
